Florida State does not have any wide receiver prospects committed for the 2025 recruiting cycle to whom four-star quarterback commit Tramell Jones Jr. can throw. However, options are accessible. Some fans were unhappy when targets like five-star Jaime Ffrench Jr. and four-star Vernell Brown III began to lean towards Ohio State.

Ron Dugans, the wide receivers coach, has continued to recruit for the programme. A segment of the fan base were dissatisfied when the Seminoles failed to secure any prospects at the position during the 2022 recruiting cycle. However, Dugans has demonstrated his recruiting skill by acquiring seven talents over the last two cycles.

Daylan McCutcheon of Lovejoy, Texas, is a four-star wide receiver prospect to keep an eye on in the 2025 class. The skilled playmaker paid the Seminoles an unofficial visit during their second spring scrimmage.

Following his visit, McCutcheon gave an interview to the media, stating that Florida State is the school he compares to others. They’ve attended his top schools. Other teams active in his recruiting include Ohio State, USC, and Texas.

He also claimed that Florida State sticks out since it is more family-oriented than the other colleges. The coaching staff wants McCutcheon to be a versatile wide receiver who can play both in the slot and out wide. He plans to make a decision in July or August, before his senior season.

It’s wonderful that McCutcheon will make his final official visit to Florida State. This might be a significant addition for the Seminoles, as the Texas native amassed over 1,400 yards and 19 touchdowns during his 2023 season. This would be an excellent start to the Seminoles’ wide receiver class in the 2025 season.
