Allegations of inappropriate behaviour against Christian Horner were dismissed following an investigation launched by Red Bull’s parent company; Jos Verstappen claims Red Bull could be “torn apart” if Horner remains; Horner met with Max Verstappen’s manager on Monday

The Red Bull team boss was the main focus of attention at Formula 1’s season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix – where Max Verstappen led Sergio Perez in a Red Bull 1-2 – following an investigation which dismissed allegations of inappropriate behaviour made against him.

Horner, who denied the allegations throughout the process, came under renewed pressure on Thursday as material purporting to be the alleged evidence in the investigation into his conduct was leaked to numerous media organisations and F1 team principals from an anonymous email account.

Red Bull was in risk of being “torn apart” if Horner continued in his role, Verstappen’s father Jos Verstappen told the Daily Mail. Sky Sports News understands that Horner made these comments before to this Saturday’s Bahrain Grand Prix, but he stands by them.

Max Verstappen has been requested by FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem to publicly support Horner. According to Sky Sports News, Ben Sulayem is being investigated for potential race meddling at the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
