In a post-match interview, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers expressed a moment of frustration after his team’s thrilling 3-1 victory over Motherwell at Fir Park.
Although Rodgers was pleased with his team’s performance and their ability to overcome a halftime deficit, the discussion shifted when he brought up the topic of media stories that surrounded his team.
Rodgers, who has expressed worries in the past about what he believes to be a scripted narrative being written about Celtic’s will and aspirations in the title fight, reaffirmed his confidence in the team’s talents.
“I’m thrilled for the players because, as I’ve mentioned, a story has been written about this group, so we will write our own story,” he remarked.
But when BBC reporter Jane Lewis asked Rodgers for more information on his remarks regarding the Celtic story, the mood tightened. Lewis’s tenacity in pressing for an explanation only caused Rodgers to abruptly end the interview. “All right, are we done now? He concluded the conversation and departed the interview with, “Well done, good girl, cheers.”
