The 20-year-old Costa Rica international midfielder started in the middle of the park in a 3-4-3 formation.
Brandon Aguilera impresses on Bristol Rovers debut
The youngster started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes. Aguilera, who joined Nottingham Forest from Liga Deportiva Alajuelense in January 2022, found the back of the net in the 15th minute.
Aguilera, who will stay on loan at Rovers until the end of the season, smashed the ball into the top corner from 20 yards.
It was a brilliant goal, and, as you can see, Brandon Aguilera has received some complimentary messages on Instagram.
Forest wingers Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga were hugely impressed by the young midfielder, and so were defensive midfielder Ryan Yates and striker Taiwo Awoniyi
Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno has explained why he played Matz Sels instead of Matt Turner against Bournemouth this past weekend.
Forest played out a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth away from home in the Premier League this past Sunday.
Sels joined Forest from Strasbourg in the January transfer window. Forest head coach Nuno included the former Newcastle United goalkeeper in the starting lineup and dropped USA international Turner, who has made costly errors this season.
NottinghamshireLive has quoted Nuno as saying about his decision: “It was not an easy decision. It is always hard. But what we need and what we are looking for is stability and confidence.
“Matz gave that to us today. It is something we addressed. Today, better, so let’s hope and continue to improve.”
