Just Now: Michigan CB Contract have approved

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Brandon Lockhart, a 2026 Loyola class cornerback from Los Angeles, Calif., has a unique talent in the secondary. The 6-2, 165-pound player is the top prospect in his home state, the No. 1 cornerback in the nation, and a four-star prospect according to 247Sports. He is also regarded as the No. 15 overall player in the nation.

He is ranked even higher in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is a five-star recruit, ranked as the ninth best talent in the country, the best player in the class at his position, and the top prospect in California.

A new era of Michigan football has started with Sherrone Moore being promoted and recently named the new head coach of the program.

As the new headman of the reigning national champions, he will be having his first recruiting weekend of his tenure this upcoming weekend and one of the East Coast’s top prospects will be on campus.

Trenton (NJ) Hun School 2025 four-star linebacker Kamar Archie has confirmed with The Michigan Insider that he will be taking an unofficial visit to Michigan this weekend.

“When (Michigan) offered it was a great feeling of course,” Archie told The Michigan Insider following getting his offer. “I’m really blessed and grateful that I’m receiving interest from all these amazing schools this early. My goals are to just stay focused and keep up the work. It really means a lot that a big-time school like that is looking at me. It gives me a drive to do bigger and better things.

“Very interested. I love the way they use their linebackers especially Jarbrill Peppers in the past with the linebacker hybrid/ HB look. It’s a place I hope to see very soon.”

Archie holds nearly 30 scholarship offers and from many of the nation’s top programs like Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Miami, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC, West Virginia and Wisconsin among others. 

He also hails from the same high school as Michigan defensive line signee Owen Wafle.

Archie sits as the No. 193 overall prospect in the 2025 class, the No. 25 linebacker in the nation and the No. 5 player in New Jersey for his class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
