Mike McCarthy, the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, is expected to make a comeback in 2024. Apparently, whatever he said to team owner Jerry Jones at their meeting earlier this week was effective.

McCarthy is getting another chance to lead Dallas to its first NFC Championship game since 1995, despite having a 1-3 playoff record with a team that has, fair or incorrectly, had Super Bowl aspirations in recent years.

McCarthy’s justification for why followers of the venerable series should keep faith in the two seemed, to put it mildly, desperate.

McCarthy’s contract will expire at the conclusion of the 2024 campaign, so for him and his staff, this year will really be make-or-break.

Until Prescott demonstrates different, doubts will also surround him, particularly because the Cowboys have the option to terminate his contract at the conclusion of the following year.

With 12 wins in each of the last three seasons and two NFC East championships, the former head coach of the Green Bay Packers has undoubtedly helped the team succeed in the regular season.
