The Dallas Cowboys and their capacity to execute in the greatest moments were already under scrutiny. The 48-32 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, however, made the list longer. Our own Mike Fisher joked that “a 50-0 football disaster” would have to happen in order for Mike McCarthy’s tenure to be called into question. Alright, fairly near.

McCarthy’s meeting this week would reportedly resemble a “job interview,” according to Fisher. Furthermore, according to the Dallas News, that appointment is expected to take place this week. What could McCarthy say or do in that meeting to keep his job?

Even though he still has one year left on his contract, the way the Dallas leadership lost to the Packers should make them reevaluate every aspect of the company.

Following the defeat against Green Bay, owner Jerry Jones stated, “I don’t have any comments, questions, or answers for how and why we didn’t do what we wanted tonight.” “I want to tell our followers how much they deserve for us to not have this conclusion. Because we all had such high hopes for this squad and such high expectations, this defeat seems to be the most agonizing one.

Does that imply that Jones wants to “reward” the patient fans by switching head coaches? As of right now, the owner does not want such a thing, according to CowboysSI.com.

Can the “50-0 thing” be disregarded, though? Is McCarthy able to prove that “one bad day” is not as important as his “body of work”? Alternatively, does Jones question the coach on the reality that the team has had “three bad days” in the previous three postseasons?

The Cowboys had their third consecutive 12-5 season under McCarthy. That is a CV stuffer. But that doesn’t really matter because they get eliminated from the playoffs year after year. Much to the dismay of some fans, Dak Prescott and other stars once more withered under the intense spotlight as the defense was brutally outclassed and the offense faltered when it mattered most.

All of that points to the necessity for a thorough review of every aspect of the company… as well as a “job interview” when the coach might need to give the Joneses some magic words.
