ANAHEIM, California: Prior to the Crimson Tide’s College Football Playoff semifinal matchup with No. 1 Michigan, Alabama starting running back Jase McClellan has resumed full practice, according to sources that are shared with BamaCentral. On Wednesday afternoon in Los Angeles, McClellan worked out without being classified as having a black injury.
His foot ailment kept him out of the SEC championship game on December 2 against then-No. 1 Georgia. He returned to practice in good health after a period of absence. The anticipated return of McClellan will be a major plus for the Crimson Tide (12-1, 8-0 SEC). With 803 yards this season, he is the top rusher for Alabama. He has six touchdowns as well.
Head coach Nick Saban seemed optimistic about McClellan’s status during the Crimson Tide’s team appearance at Disneyland on Wednesday. “Jase is doing great,” Saban said.
“Looks good. We gave him a lot of time off to heal his foot and it looks like it paid off.” The Wolverines (13-0, 9-0 Big Ten) boast the No. 5 rushing defense in all of college football, allowing just over 87 yards on the ground per game. Michigan is allowing just 2.93 yards per carry against its opponents this season
