Cincinnati — Trey Hendrickson reached sack number sixteen against Pittsburgh on Saturday, smashing his own Bengals single-season record.

With 38 sacks as a Bengal, Hendrickson has surpassed his previous high of 14 from the 2021 season by two and enters the top 10 of the team’s career list.

Hendrickson is still performing like one of the top five NFL edge rushers, so Cincinnati’s decision to sign him to an extension this past winter appears to have been a wise one.

To remain a serious postseason contender, the Cincinnati Bengals needed to defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday. Sadly, they did not show up and the Steelers humiliated them; as a result, their chances of making the playoffs are very slim.

As of right now, The New York Times estimates that the Bengals have a 14% probability of qualifying for the postseason. They are 0-5 in their division, which disadvantages them in tiebreaker situations because the Texans have a crucial head-to-head tiebreaker against them and the Steelers are currently ahead of them in the rankings. That might come into play since they do have important tiebreakers against the Jaguars, Colts, and Bills.
