According to Justin Schultz of Bleacher Report, the Los Angeles Chargers are apparently interested in Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh. The Wolverines coach’s performance has reportedly caught their attention after Brandon Staley was fired. Harbaugh has been a convenient target for claims like this one due to his persistent flirtations with different NFL jobs in recent years. Given his previous experience playing in the Bay Area with the San Francisco 49ers, Schultz believes these reports have some validity.

It’s possible that Harbaugh gave a sneak peek at his future coaching schemes during the team’s awards ceremony this past weekend in anticipation of the College Football Playoffs. The three-time Big Ten champion Harbaugh initially discussed his possibilities in November of this year, citing a previous exchange with his father.

Alejandro Zuniga reports that Harbaugh made a joke that elicited some of the loudest laughter and applause of the evening after posing for a photo with a number of fourth- and fifth-year players on Sunday.

Per The Michigan Insider, Harbaugh remarked, “I’d just like to say that I hope some of you are coming back next year.”

In his opening remarks, Harbaugh referred to the team’s “unfinished business” about this year’s undefeated team, which is ranked No. 1 and plays Alabama in the Rose Bowl on January 1 with a trip to the national championship game at stake.

Our guiding principle is that an environment that benefits bees also benefits hives. The team benefits from what’s beneficial to each individual, according to Harbaugh. And in terms of staff and coaches, I just want to say how much I appreciate everyone buying into it. At every chance: we stand fully behind our fighter gamers, who are the ones who must take the field to bring the magic to life in real time during gameplay.

“And then the presumption, or even prediction, that if we give our players everything they need, we’ll presume they’ll do all within their power to support our team. And they’ve accomplished so much more than that.”
