Burnley manager Vincent Kompany has disclosed that before to the Clarets’ successful promotion campaign the previous year, he had a conversation with Steve Cooper, the former manager of Nottingham Forest.

Kompany moved from Belgian team Anderlecht to Turf Moor during the summer of last year. The Lancashire team earned promotion with an incredible 101 points, and they went on to have a great Championship season.

“I guess no-one can hold onto a job for life, that’s not the point, but I’m always in the manager’s union. I’m not going to make any distinction in this one,” he said via Burnley Express.
