NEW NOW: Jerry Jones remains in the Cowboys despite..

Dallas owner Jerry Jones feels the Cowboys can beat anyone owing to quarterback Dak Prescott’s outstanding play, which has earned him MVP consideration.

Jones said on Tuesday that if Prescott continues to thrive, he can lead the Cowboys (9-3) to victories against the San Francisco 49ers (9-3) and Philadelphia Eagles (10-2), propelling them to the top of the NFC

“I will say this: we certainly have the opportunity,” Jones told Dallas’ KRLD-FM. “We’ve got the talent, the way Dak is playing, and we got the opportunity to win any game we play against either of those teams.

The 49ers defeated the Cowboys 42-10 in Week 5, and Prescott threw three interceptions. Perhaps the humiliating setback provided fuel. In his last seven games, the quarterback has completed 70.5 percent of his throws for 2,173 yards, 21 touchdowns, two interceptions, and an above-average passer rating of 121.5.

According to oddschecker, Eagles QB Jalen Hurts dealing with shoulder injury - al.comPrescott is roughly level with San Francisco’s Brock Purdy and Philadelphia’s Jalen Hurts in MVP odds as of Tuesday.

The Cowboys face the Eagles in a crucial game on Sunday. With a win, Dallas would take over first place in the NFC East. A win would also help Prescott’s case for MVP.

“Dallas could land the top spot in the conference if it beats the Eagles, wins out and gets the 49ers to slip up at least once before the end of the season,” according to ESPN’s Bill Barnwell. “A division title and five more games at this level of play would probably be enough for Prescott to win MVP, but if he leads the Cowboys to the top seed in the conference for the first time, he could win MVP.”
