Cam Taylor-Britt, the No. 1 cornerback, is also limited but encouraging after missing last Sunday’s game due to a quad injury.

They’ve now lost three straight, and Jake Browning has taken over at quarterback with Burrow (throwing wrist) out for the season.

“Jake is playing with assurance. “You can see the confidence he’s been building since coming in for Joe in the Ravens game,” Higgins said, looking forward to his first catch with Browning. “With the way he’s taking charge of the offense, he’s not far off Joe.” I’m looking forward to catching his balls.”

The affection is mutual.

“Tee is a top receiver in the NFL.” “I don’t think you can really put into words how important he is to this offense,” Browning said during his weekly news conference Thursday after practice. “I believe we have a really good receiver room, and I don’t want to detract from that.” I believe Andrei’s (Iosivas) performance has improved. Trenton Irwin has demonstrated that he is capable. But Tee brings something special to the table, being as large, as fast, and as experienced as he is. It’s always good to have him and Ja’Marr (Chase) around.”

SLANTS AND SCREENS: Burrow kept his word after undergoing surgery on a torn ligament in his throwing wrist on Monday and showed up to practice with his arm in a sling and a cast on his hand. As a swarm of reporters exited the practice field, he smiled and said, “Hello reporter people.” There is always time for him to bond with his buddies. Burrow proceeded to the practice squad annex of the locker room and dragged the card table out with his left hand so he could start a game. That’s all you need to know about what he’s talking about around here…

Center Ted Karras agreed that the Thursday-Wednesday practice went well. Everything is shifted back a day on Monday nights.

“We’re bringing the energy, and we have a big prime-time game against a team fighting for the conference’s top seed.” “I’d like to go beat them on Monday Night Football,” Karras remarked. “I’m just a bit irritated. That’s how I like to play on sometimes. I believe that as a group, all 11 of us performed better. A more fluid, improved practice. Guys arrived at work. I’m proud of how this squad is managing itself. We’ll learn a lot about ourselves over the next six weeks.” ….

Browning was listed as injured with, of all things,

Logan Wilson (ankle/foot) did as well after leaving late in Sunday’s game…

Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie (sickness) did not work, nor did Trey Hendrickson with a rest day…
