The Green Bay Packers will be doing their study at tight end for the rest of the season. This is especially important now that it has been announced that starting tight end Luke Musgrave could miss the rest of the season.
The organization is undoubtedly thrilled about rookie tight end Tucker Kraft’s potential, but the opportunity to bring in a former starting tight end may be too good to pass up.
The Green Bay Packers Work Out Former Third Round Draft Pick Devin Asiasi Ahead Of Kansas City Chiefs Matchup
Aaron Wilson of NFL Network reported that the Green Bay Packers checked out tight end Devin Asiasi.
Asiasi was chosen by Cleveland in the third round of the 2020 draft. He also spent time with the New England Patriots and the Cincinnati Bengals. Asiasi has played 424 offensive snaps in his career, 200 of which were last season. For what it’s worth, he’s graded okay as a blocker by PFF’s metrics and has four career receptions on 11 targets for 44 yards and one touchdown.
Asiai, who stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 260 pounds, is in his fourth season after attending UCLA. Asiai has participated in 22 games with the Patriots (2020-2021) and Bengals (2022-23), starting three of them.
After Musgrave’s injury, it will be fascinating to see whether the Packers get some experienced depth at the position.
