Running back Jonathan Taylor of the Indianapolis Colts had a strong day against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, which resulted in a random drug test from the NFL. Surprising, surprising.
Because of his outstanding performance, the league required him to take a drug test following the victory, which Taylor mocked. When players turn up for a game, this has become a typical occurrence in the NFL.
Taylor carried for 6.1 yards per run for 91 yards and two touchdowns in Week 12. He made the difference for Indy, who improved to 6-5 as a result. The Colts have now won three straight games after losing quarterback Anthony Richardson to a season-ending injury in early October.
Jonathan Taylor is showcasing why he’s one of the top running backs in the league. In four games, the former Wisconsin standout has averaged 4.1 yards per carry and scored four touchdowns.
In terms of drug tests, he had one in late October after rushing for 75 yards on 18 carries. There is a recurring motif here. While Taylor’s numbers aren’t as high as they were in 2021, the 24-year-old is still contributing at a high level and is joined by another quality RB in Zack Moss.
When the Indianapolis Colts face the Tennessee Titans in Week 13, they will be seeking to make it four wins in a row. We’ll have to wait and watch if Jonathan Taylor is required to take another drug test.
