The Pittsburgh Steelers have struggled offensively all season, but they are still the seventh seed with a 6-4 record. However, their offense has been dismal, and they have made a change by firing offensive coordinator Matt Canada.
The Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense has struggled to move the ball consistently, ranking 28th in points per game (16.6), 16th in running yards per game (110.1), and 31st in throwing yards per game (170.0). It will be intriguing to watch how the offense looks with someone else in command.
Coach Mike Tomlin issued the following statement regarding the coaching change via the Pittsburgh Steelers’ social media channels:
Matt Canada’s position as offensive coordinator has been terminated. I appreciate Matt’s hard work and dedication, and I wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
While not confirmed, quarterbacks coach Mike Sullivan is expected to serve as interim offensive coordinator. In 2012-13, Sullivan was the offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and in 2016-17, he was the offensive coordinator for the New York Giants.
The AFC North is stuck in a rut because all four teams are.This season, aim for 500 points or higher. As a result, each game is extremely important. The Pittsburgh Steelers still have a lot of winnable games left on their schedule, which is listed below:
They have a good possibility of winning more than ten games this season. Their defense has improved, and with Matt Canada no longer directing plays, the offense can only improve. This club should be scoring more regularly, but it has only scored 166 points this season.
Because quarterback Kenny Pickett has struggled this season, this will be an excellent test for him. So far, he has completed 170-of-281 passes (60.5 percent) for 1,722 yards and six touchdowns against four interceptions. This will be a huge test for him because he is in the second year of his rookie deal. This attack is loaded with talent and should be able to outperform the Steelers defense.
