On Thursday night in Baltimore, Burrow had a wrist injury that ended his season.
Cincy, Ohio Olivia Ray of WLWT reports that quarterback Drew Plitt is expected to be signed by the Bengals to the practice squad.
The decision makes sense given that standout quarterback Joe Burrow hurt his wrist against the Ravens on Thursday night, ending his season.
The Bengals’ starting quarterback is going to be Jake Browning, with AJ McCarron filling in. After placing Burrow on injured reserve, McCarron will probably be signed by the Bengals to the 53-man roster.
When questioned about bringing in a third quarterback on Friday, head coach Zac Taylor responded, “That’s a conversation we will have with Duke and the staff.” “Just to take some throws off of those guys as you are doing scout team work and routes on air.”
While Burrow was recuperating from an appendectomy in 2022, Plitt, 25, was a member of the team at training camp.
After spending the preseason with the Bengals, Plitt was a member of the XFL Arlington Renegades. He sustained a knee injury in April, but he has now fully healed.
