The Philadelphia Eagles are well known for selecting former Georgia Bulldogs in the draft.

The club picked linebacker Nakobe Dean, defensive lineman Jordan Davis, defensive tackle Jalen Carter, pass rusher Nolan Smith, and cornerback Kelee Ringo in the past two selections. All of these players won national championships with the Bulldogs.

In the most recent mock draft by Pro Football Network, the Eagles choose receiver Ladd McConkey, another Bulldog, with the choice No. 32 after winning the Super Bowl.

“The Philadelphia Eagles haven’t figured out their WR3 spot yet, and Julio Jones, Olamide Zacchaeus, and Quez Watkins are all slated to hit free agency,” Pro Football Network writes.

Commanding the defense': A rookier no longer, Nakobe Dean is taking control

“Howie Roseman has only drafted trench players, wide receivers, and quarterbacks in Round 1, so we have to stick with the theme. Ladd McConkey’s quickness and hands have made him a standout and would add another dimension to the Eagles’ offense.”

The Eagles are a team with very few flaws, so taking the best player available is a strategy they could adopt. If they feel like McConkey could be the best player available at the end of the first round, he certainly wouldn’t be a bad addition to the loaded offense.

McConkey, 22, has 26 catches for 418 yards and a touchdown for the Bulldogs this season. On last year’s National Championship team, he recorded 58 catches for 762 yards and seven touchdowns, all while running for 134 yards and two scores of his own.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. And the Eagles’ approach to drafting Bulldogs has worked for them so far, so why wouldn’t it work again?
