The rest of the Warriors’ roster needed to step up against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night at Chase Center, but youngster Brandin Podziemski was probably not coach Steve Kerr’s first, second, or third pick for a breakout game.
With Curry out and Thompson and Green ejected earlier in the game, Podziemski balled out through the first three quarters, capping it off with an incredible banked-in 3-pointer to end the third quarter following a steal off a Timberwolves defensive rebound.
Podziemski, the 19th overall choice in the 2023 NBA Draft, played a team-high 28:42 in the first three quarters and scored 20 points, becoming only the third Warrior this season to do it, joining Curry and Dario Saric.
Without their three best players, Kerr had to rely on almost everyone on the squad, and Podziemski delivered big time.
