Last night, Harry Arter captained a Nottingham Forest Under-21 team in the Nottinghamshire Senior Cup. In the United Counties Division One, a young Reds team faced Gedling Miners Welfare.

Arter hasn’t played a professional game since joining Notts County on loan during the 2021/22 season. He only made nine appearances for Meadow Lane and hasn’t appeared in a senior game since.

The Reds have had difficulty offloading the midfielder. Forest are now paying the midfielder £40,000 a week due to a clause in his contract signed in 2020 that provided for a pay increase if the club won promotion.

Arter leads the Forest B-Team.
Arter, who is 33 years old, could still be working for someone in the EFL. Instead, he’s working with the B-Team and assisting Warren Joyce with some youth coaching.

Harry Arter ends Bournemouth stay to join Forest

Last night, he helped the Reds win 4-1 and advance to the Nottinghamshire Senior Cup quarter-finals by defeating a tenacious Gedling side.

It’s unclear who scored the four goals scored by the B-Team last night. Arter, on the other hand, was not on the score sheet for Forest, and he most likely did not play the full 90 minutes.

Arter will be difficult to offload now for the Reds.
The Reds will have a difficult time offloading the midfielder now. Arter’s contract will expire in the summer, and the time for Forest to get rid of him cannot come soon enough.

Arter joined Forest immediately after starring for Fulham in the Championship. He assisted them in gaining promotion to the Premier League, and on the surface, he appeared to be a good addition.

To say the least, the deal has been a disaster. He’s only made 14 appearances for the club and has spent more time practising away from it than he has with it.

Thankfully, we’ve moved on from recruitment disasters like these. This Arter transaction must be the last of its kind for Forest.
