Wesley Fofana, the centre back for Leicester City, is really disappointed after getting hurt after the team’s terrible home loss to Tottenham Hotspur.

As much as the transfer chiefs on Filbert Way knew they were acquiring a potential jewel, Foxes supporters also knew it before the French prodigy signed a contract with Leicester. However, no one could have predicted the influence Fofana would have on the squad or how much playing time he would receive when his acquisition became apparent.

Every team in the campaign was concerned about injuries, including the King Power squad. Fofana was forced to fill in for Turkish center-half Caglar Soyuncu. And the former Saint-Etienne player was so brilliant that Brendan Rodgers changed his formation to incorporate both players and veteran Jonny Evans when Soyuncu returned from injury instead of leaving him out.

As a trio, the aforementioned defence combo played fantastically throughout the majority of 2020–21; despite a few hiccups, they largely established themselves as a premier league elite. The only other one of them to be included in the Press Association EPL Team of the Season was Fofana.

Despite having a minor hamstring issue during the pregame warm-up before the Tottenham game, Fofana chose to play. But after 20 minutes, Papy Mendy took his place, forcing Wilfred Ndidi to slide into defence.

When Fofana left the pitch, he appeared quite distressed and sad. It makes sense that the 20-year-old was anxious to get his colleagues into the Champions League and would have also been thinking about the Under-21 Euros.

France is currently in the tournament’s quarterfinals, and although Fofana would have likely played, he departed the team because of a personal matter. He expressed his disappointment to his Instagram followers.

The Blue Army will be happy with the comments given by Brendan Rodgers, the manager of Leicester City, regarding his future with the Foxes.

You really need to reevaluate your expectations and sense of entitlement if you are a Leicester fan and you’re not happy with Rodgers leading LCFC. especially because you are now a member of a smaller fan community; in essence, the team is overachieving, and we consider ourselves fortunate to be in the Blue Army right now.

On the other side of the fence, there are some very thoughtful and measured Foxes; the majority are pleased, even overjoyed with the side’s evolution on and off the field. And if you are someone who is worried about the Northern Irishman being poached by another outfit such as Tottenham Hotspur, you can rest assured.
