Journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that a number of Premier League teams are still interested in Leeds United striker Crysencio Summerville ahead of the forthcoming January transfer season.

Despite declining offers to Burnley, Everton, and other teams during the summer transfer window, the 21-year-old has had a fantastic start to the 2023–24 Championship campaign. Unfortunately for Leeds, though, the interest doesn’t seem to be waning.

Summerville cost only £1.2 million when he moved to Elland Road in September 2020, but under Daniel Farke, he has already made a name for himself in the first squad. In his ten games across all competitions, he has contributed six goals.

In his brief career, the winger has played in over 80 first-team games for teams including Leeds United, Ado Den Haag, and FC Dordrecht. He has also scored four goals in his past three Championship games.

Leeds star Crysencio Summerville reportedly has release clause of £20m but could leave for less

Leeds United moved up to third position in the Championship after defeating Norwich City three points to one, closing the distance on Ipswich Town, who were forced to postpone their game against Rotherham this weekend due to inclement weather.

TransferMarkt has already rated the winger at £12.5 million despite his low cost of £1.2 million; however, this is only an estimate and the Championship team is expected to seek a far higher fee.

Romano shared an update on Twitter, saying,

“Crysencio Summerville, who turned down multiple offers in the summer to remain at Leeds United and be a vital player there, scored a brace today against Norwich.

Burnley, Bournemouth, and Everton all expressed interest. Additional Premier League teams are now keeping an eye on Crysencio as the January window approaches.

Writer’s Opinion
With the team having lost numerous players, including Tyler Adams and Jack Harrison, Summerville was one of the few stars who chose to remain at Elland Road this season. He has already shown himself to be an essential part of Daniel Farke’s team.

Even though there is a growing list of teams interested in the winger’s services and Leeds United is planning a quick return to the Premier League, they will need to hold onto the player at all costs. This list is expected to grow between now and the January transfer window.
