Leeds United’s squad depth has been bolstered since Daniel Farke arrived in the summer, and with injuries under control as the season has gone, competition for minutes has been fierce. Farke has seen his reserve list balloon to the point where prior starters are no longer making his team since the dark night of two goalkeepers on a seven-man bench.
When it comes to injuries and squad preparation over the next seven months, Farke and Rob Price will not allow complacency to seep in. The manager will ensure that he has enough choices to deal with suspensions and injuries as they happen, but there is a healthy core of players who may be concerned about their playing time this season.
The next chance for players to move in and out of Elland Road is in January. Injuries and bans will play a role, but there are five or six players who may be looking to make a transfer when the market opens.
The 22-year-old custodian has not appeared for the first team since his debut at Molineux in March 2022. It’s fair to say that the road the Norwegian may have envisioned to regular starts has not materialised, despite the fact that his occasional under-21 appearances have rarely inspired great confidence.
