Brighton and Hove Albion captain Lewis Dunk signs new contract extension with club

Brighton and Hove Albion have confirmed that their captain, Lewis Dunk, has extended his contract until June 2026.

This announcement follows Dunk surpassing the 400-appearance mark for the club in the 2022/23 season during their FA Cup victory over Stoke City.

The club’s head coach, Roberto De Zerbi, shared his enthusiasm over Dunk’s extended stay, saying, “Long live the captain! I’m really happy he has signed this new contract. It’s good news for Lewis and the club.”

Dunk’s professional football career began with Brighton and Hove Albion at the end of the 2009/10 season.

He played a few games in the next season when the club was promoted from League One. Since the 2014/15 season, he has been a constant figure in the first team, playing 43 matches during the club’s promotion season to the Premier League.

In 2019, he was appointed as the club captain and has since made a total of 416 appearances for Albion. His performance on the field earned him his first England cap in 2018 when he played the full 90 minutes in a 3-0 win over the USA.Lewis Dunk is like a quarterback – he sees the whole picture
