Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall has had a great start to the campaign, proving many doubters wrong and earning himself a new contract in the process.
The 26-year-old has started five Premier League games so far, although has made way in recent games after the emergence of 21-year-old Murillo.
However, his performances this season have seen him average more than Arsenal’s William Saliba in a number of key areas.
Saliba, often described as one of the best young defenders in the division, has had a solid start to the campaign, however, the stats don’t lie with Worrall currently ranking higher than the 22-year-old.
Although the Arsenal man has played three more games than the Reds’ club captain, Worrall is currently head of the Frenchman in multiple key areas.
When comparing the two on Squawka, Worrall averages more tackles, duels and clearances per game than Saliba.
Although the Arsenal defender has more interceptions, Worrall blocks more shots whilst winning a higher percentage of aerial battles.
