Nottingham Forest defender Neco Williams is ‘gutted’ he will miss the rest of the season after he suffered a serious injury against Brighton and Hove Albion at the weekend.

Williams fractured his jaw as the Reds boosted their revival hopes with a shock 3-1 victory against the Seagulls.

The fullback was on the pitch for over an hour before he was stretched out after he sustained the injury that will now see him miss the rest of the season.

Forest claimed their first win in 12 matches after coming from behind to see off FA Cup semifinalists Brighton in superb fashion.

But the win came at a huge cost for the home side who suffered a major injury setback when Neco came off badly hurt following a collision with teammates Brennan Johnson.

The 22-year-old has now taken to his social media account to react and is gutted he will play no further part in the team’s quest to avoid the drop.

“Absolutely buzzing the lads got the win yesterday but at the same time I am gutted to say my seasons over for sustaining a broken jaw,” Neco posted on Twitter.
