Consider this Newcastle squad versus Burnley.

Eddie Howe and his team hope to build on a strong first two weeks.

The Champions League away point at the San Siro, with Premier League wins against Brentford and Sheffield United, before that outstanding performance and Carabao Cup triumph over Manchester City.

So, what can we anticipate from the Newcastle team versus Burnley?

Pope, Livramento, Lascelles, Dummett, Targett, Tonali, Miley, Hall, Murphy, Isak, and Joelinton are some of the players.

What a difficult decision!

You have Eddie Howe, who made 10 changes on Wednesday and still managed to field a winning team against Manchester City.

Then, while we know Barnes, Krafth, and Willock are all out, the NUFC Head Coach named a long list of players with injury or illness worries on Friday. Hopefully, the Newcastle United manager was exaggerating and misdirecting himself.

However, he will certainly be managing his resources and doing his best to keep as many of his squad fit and available for upcoming games as possible, not just today.

One name we can certainly call is Nick Pope; shame on those who want him dumped and made a scapegoat based on very little.

He now looks to make it five clean sheets in a straight, and if he does, Newcastle United will undoubtedly win tonight.

On the surface, it may appear harsh in front of him, but it is almost inevitable that the defenders that kept Man City out will all be left out.

Eddie Howe is preparing to bring back his tried-and-true Trippier.

If several assumptions are proven to be right, Elliot Anderson may be the one who is most unlucky not to start today.
In midweek, supersub Anthony Gordon made it two games in a row, putting NUFC on the road to victory. I believe he and Almiron will return to the starting lineup.
The biggest mystery is who will lead the attack.

I’d expect Callum Wilson to start if he’s fit, with Eddie Howe mentioning a small hamstring problem.

Alexander Isak, who started and scored the winner on Wednesday, had to withdraw due to a tight calf, with Eddie Howe admitting he was another he’d make a late call on.

Wilson should start, with Isak on the bench.
