Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp may have Trent Alexander-Arnold available for Saturday’s Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur in North London.
The right-back has returned to team training after suffering a hamstring injury at the start of the month, but he will not play against Leicester City in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.
The extra rest will help Alexander-Arnold’s prospects of returning this weekend, but Thiago Alcantara (hip) is still out and won’t be back for at least a few weeks.
With Alexander-Arnold still not fully recovered, Klopp should bring Joe Gomez back into the picture at right-back, while Andrew Robertson will take over for Kostas Tsimikas on the left side of the defense.
