Bringing back former club doctor Mark Waller to a director role appeared to be having a major impact on the club as Rangers edged closer to their full complement this season.
But as the likes of Ben Davies, Ridvan Yilmaz, Tom Lawrence and Kemar Roofe returned to action for Rangers against St Johnstone, the latest run of injuries is gathering momentum in the background
The situation around Ibrox veteran Steven Davis continues to have an air of uncertainty as the veteran Hall of Famer recovers from a devastating cruciate ligament injury.
PSV Eindhoven midfielder Joey Veerman springs to mind, as does defender Danilho Doekhi, who seemed to be heading towards Rangers before joining Union Berlin and becoming a star in Germany.
Nice striker Terem Moffi is a less-known case; Het Laatste Nieuws in Belgium suggested that Rangers refused to pay £4.5million to sign Moffi from Kortrijk, and he just demolished Paris Saint-Germain a few days ago.
Then there is goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, with FootMercato reporting in 2020 that Rangers were keen.
The Serbian moved on to New England Revolution and now Chelsea, so Rangers have missed out on some pretty decent talent over the years.
Rangers were linked with signing Oscar Gloukh
Another name in that mix is Oscar Gloukh with Rangers heavily linked in the past.
Rangers were thought to be scouting Gloukh in action for Maccabi Tel Aviv, as we covered back in 2022.
Gloukh had impressed for Maccabi but also with Israel at the Under-19 European Championships, firing his country to the final against England.
The Gers were quoted around £8million but, even after selling Calvin Bassey, no deal was done with Rangers seemingly deciding not to bite.
