After undergoing surgery for a broken cheekbone, the Brazilian brought some good news.
Danilo, the injured Rangers striker, has indicated that he hopes to be back in action “in a few weeks” as he continues to provide updates to fans following his weekend injury.
The 24-year-old scored the opening goal in St Johnstone’s 2-0 Scottish Premiership win before suffering the consequences of an unintentional head clash with defender Liam Gordon. The striker was in excruciating pain before being transported to hospital to undergo surgery on a complex fracture and begin his path to recovery.
Danilo has been updating his Instagram feed with photos from his hospital bed. And his most recent goal is a huge lift for Michael Beale and the Ibrox side. He captioned a photo of himself lounging on his couch at home with his dog, “Back home.” The healing process begins. “I’ll be back on the field in a few weeks.”
Rangers manager Beale was concerned that Danilo’s injury might keep him out for some time. “I’ve just been told by the doctor that it’s a fracture, so we’ll have to see when they operate on it,” he stated after the game.
“He’s had a few things going on outside, so these two weeks were a chance for him to catch up on everything.” He then goes on to score a fantastic goal, thus the game is cruel to him at that point. It’s a major setback.”
