Leeds beat Millwall 3-0 away at the Den on Sunday afternoon to move up to third place in the Championship rankings.
Leeds had not beaten Millwall away from home since 2012, when both teams were in League One.
The Whites will be seeking to improve on their second league win of the season, but Newsome believes the club’s squad of players is fantastic.
The former Leeds player stated that Daniel Farke’s forward line will worry opponents this season.
And he believes Leeds demonstrated against Millwall that they have the defensive tenacity to keep teams at bay.
“I think this squad of players that the club has put together is a strong squad,” Newsome stated on BBC Radio Leeds.The top of the pitch is electrifying, and we’re going to scare the crap out of teams in this league.

Leeds will travel to Hull City on Wednesday night before facing Watford at Elland Road the following weekend.
