Milo impressed everyone with his development during his time at Park Hall, becoming renowned for his braveness and ability between the sticks, and last season, he was chosen as Coach’s Player of the Year.

Below, Paul Bennett and Ash Russell, who both worked with Milo during his time with the TNS FC Academy, pay tribute to the talented youngster following his departure for pastures new.

“The bravest boy I’ve ever come across, Milo quickly became known for his determination not to get beaten.

“He would race out and dive at the feet of onrushing strikers, take a full-blown shot in the face before bouncing back up to save the rebound, and would also make amazing reflex saves that he had no right to.

“His biggest attribute, however, is his personality. Bright as a button with a lovely sense of humour, he would be the organiser within the group and had the presence to hold the other boys’ attention.

“Milo will be a huge loss to us here at The New Saints, but he’ll be a fantastic addition to the West Bromwich Albion Academy.

“All our best wishes.”

Paul Bennet

“Milo has been a breath of fresh air since he joined our under-8s last season. Playing a year, or even two years up, he never stopped amazing us as coaches with his outrageous saves and performances.

“He has an infectious personality and so much energy, which makes all the coaches laugh uncontrollably and love working with him.

“He’s been a huge part of the group socially too – always making jokes to everyone and anyone, especially bantering them about their team losing to Arsenal over the weekend.

“Funnily enough, the season ended with him calling me Alan and me calling him Dave for some reason, but it’s stuck ever since!

“On the pitch, he’s an incredibly brave goalkeeper who will stop at nothing to ensure he concedes zero goals, so much as the fact he must have saved 10 shots with his face last season before still getting up to save rebounds.

“Brave as ever though, he shrugs it off and gets straight back to doing what he does. As my coach’s Player of the Year last season, Milo has developed immensely here with us – with his distribution and game understanding being standouts, alongside his obvious talent of stopping the ball entering his net.Congratulations, Milo Ellington, as the Academy youngster completes a move to West Bromwich Albion – TNSFC

“His communication is fantastic for such a young boy too and I know personally that West Brom are very lucky to be signing such a great person, as well as a fantastic footballer.
