An incredible injury is preventing a brilliant Burnley player from playing again.

After the international break, Burnley’s Premier League baptism of fire will intensify, and Vincent Kompany is prepared.
As they continue to search for their first Premier League point, Vincent Kompany thinks his team is displaying “really interesting” indicators.

Despite three straight league losses, the manager insists there is still much to look forward to and that the club is prepared to build on its past successes.

The two early pacesetters in the division, Manchester City and Tottenham, were responsible for two of the Clarets’ defeats, but Kompany isn’t using that as an excuse for their lethargic start.

“There’s no such thing as an easy game in this league, so you have to try and prepare in the best way you think you can get a result,” he said.

Whether against Tottenham or another opponent, “Our team exhibits signs of having something extremely intriguing, something to look forward to, and we continue to build on it.

After a tantalising Turf Moor matchup with Manchester United and Chelsea, with a trip to Newcastle in between, comes a Monday night away game at Nottingham Forest.

Kompany is unconcerned with the calibre of the impending opposition.

“I think I’d prefer it that way,” he said. You can be as good as you want, but that doesn’t guarantee you’ll get results. Those games could all take place 10 or 15 games into the season.

“The goal is on improving as soon as possible and going up against the top sides early? That is not a problem for me.

We put our attention towards ourselves, but we also believe we can achieve results, of course.

The international break provides an opportunity to evaluate, think, and gear up for another challenging slate of games.

As long as we emotionally restrain ourselves from getting caught up in drama or excitement if we don’t see results.

This group of players has enough to be excited about. There hasn’t been a single moment when coaching this team hasn’t been fun for me, so that’s a terrific start.
