Luis Sinisterra, a winger for Leeds, has been signed on a season-long loan by Bournemouth on transfer deadline day.
The south coast club delivered their contract document to the Premier League before the deadline, and the player and both clubs approved the transfer, allowing the transaction to go through after the 11 p.m. deadline.
Sinisterra, who only made a permanent transfer from Dutch club Feyenoord to Leeds last year, is currently travelling to Bournemouth and returning to the Premier League.
Before the transfer season closed, Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola was looking to bring the Colombian striker to the Vitality stadium to bolster his team’s assault.
Leeds had been seeking a player in exchange at this late time in the transfer market, thus negotiations had continued into the evening.
Jaidon Anthony will travel in the opposite direction to Elland Road, while Sinisterra will make a season-long loan move to Bournemouth.
Daniel Farke’s Leeds team, which has struggled in the first several weeks of the new Championship season, gets a much-needed boost from Anthony.
The 23-year-old has played in all three of Bournemouth’s opening Premier League fixtures and drops down the Championship for the remainder of the season.
His last campaign in England’s second-flight saw him score eight goals and register six assists in 45 league appearances.
Anthony becomes Leeds’ ninth and final arrival of the summer transfer window, and follows Ethan Ampadu, Sam Byram, Karl Darlow, Ilia Gruev, Glen Kamara, Joel Piroe, Joe Rodon and Djed Spence to the club
Posting on Instagram, he said: “Happiness has to be sought and, sometimes, you have to fight to get it. Together we made it easier. ‘Just say no to deal breaker’, YOU WIN!”
The post has since been edited, with the caption now reading: “It hasn’t been easy but we’re taking the good out of this experience. Now it’s time to bring your magic to this new elastic. Last minute deal!”
Sinisterra departed West Yorkshire with 26 Leeds appearances on his CV, with his future beyond the end of his loan stint on the coast uncertain.
