Every incoming and outgoing deal Newcastle United completed on transfer deadline day
Eddie Howe finished off the last touches on the team he hopes can now win the St. James’ Park club’s first major trophy since 1955 as Newcastle United saw through a quiet deadline day.
This summer’s transfer window was busy for the Toon as manager Howe welcomed Sandro Tonali and Harvey Barnes to Tyneside. With the addition of Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall before to the Magpies’ return to the Champions League, Newcastle also made an investment in both full-back positions.
Newcastle has supported Howe in his efforts to assemble a squad that he thinks can earn another top-four Premier League position and perhaps a trophy. At the Toon, Tonali and Barnes both adapted well. But the club is again on the back foot after early losses to Manchester City and Liverpool
Last season, Howe led the St. James’ Park team to its first top-four Premier League finish since 2003. In February, when Newcastle was playing for the first time under Saudi-backed owners, he also led them to the Carabao Cup final. And the PIF continues to support the deadline day
So, Newcastle explored the transfer market on deadline day and considered a few outgoings from St James’ Park. And, with that in mind, here are all of the Magpies’ last-minute deals…
