Paulo Bernardo is on his way to Lennoxtown to complete a season-long loan agreement, and Celtic will soon announce his arrival.
The Portuguese midfielder is reportedly finalizing the agreement, and The Daily Record (13:03) adds that they anticipate it to happen well before the transfer deadline.
Over the past 48 hours, Bernardo has been closely associated with the team, and TBR Celtic has been closely monitoring this one.
Bernardo completed a medical exam before to his possible move, which we also mentioned this morning. Yesterday, we described how Bernardo had been to Glasgow to talk about joining Celtic.
Now that Celtic is preparing a statement to indicate that the player has become Brendan Rodgers’ seventh acquisition of the summer transfer window, it appears as though the deal will move forward.
The acquisition of Bernardo will please Celtic management. He had a great reputation at Benfica. So much so that The Eagles added a £90 million buy-out provision to his contract when he signed with them. Day-to-Day Record
All that is left for Rodgers to acquire from his priority list is a left-back and goalkeeper if the deal is approved. Time is quickly running out as the transfer window closes in less than ten hours.
