The forward is entering the final year of his contract at the Liberty Stadium and the Swans are yet to open any talks regarding a new deal. Jon Dahl Tommason’s side are eager to add attacking reinforcements to their squad before the window slams shut at 11pm tonight. Cullen could be available on a cut price deal, due to his expiring contract and lack of game time which could prove an attractive proposition for Blackburn to pursue. They have already seen a bid rejected for Hertha Berlin forward Derry Scherhant and are exploring other targets

Cullen is a product of the Swansea City academy, where he has progressed through the ranks to be part of the first team senior squad. He had a brief spell at League One Lincoln City, but failed to capture the imagination of fans as the Imps struggled, narrowly avoiding relegation late in the window. Following this he returned to his parent club and impressed in the little appearances he made scoring 9 goals in 32 appearances whilst at times slotting in on the wings rather than in his favoured centre-forward position. The Welshman has been capped by his national team up to U21 level but is yet to make an appearance, despite being on the bench for their European qualifying defeats to Armenia and Turkey in June.

The 24-year-old has bags of potential, but has failed to find a home to get regular game time. It is therefore hard to really judge him, he impressed in spells for Swansea from the bench but really disappointed when given a chance at Lincoln City alongside then teammate Morgan Whittaker. He needs to nail down a starting spot wherever he ends up and this could be one of the most vital decisions of his career so far.

Blackburn Rovers are set to sign James Hill on loan from Bournemouth, Lancs Live can exclusively reveal.

The defender is set to become the club’s sixth summer signing with a season-long switch from the Cherries. The 21-year-old will provide much-needed cover at centre-back.

Rovers have made signing a striker and a defender their top priorities ahead of Friday’s 11pm deadline. More deals are in the pipeline in what could be a busy end to the window.

After letting go of Daniel Ayala and selling Ash Phillips, Rovers have needed cover at centre-back. Injury to Sam Barnes has further increased the need, with academy graduate Pat Gamble making his debut against Harrogate.

Hill provides an athletic option in defence and can also cover right-back. Rovers had looked at more experienced options, mainly Danny Batth, but were unable to agree a deal
