Leeds United have allegedly initiated discussions to sign AS Roma winger Ola Solbakken, as Daniel Farke looks to bolster his assault.

Leeds’ transfer window is expected to be busier than the rest of the Championship as they try to bring in a slew of new players in the next 36 hours.

After putting four past Ipswich Town, the attack appears to be well covered, but there may still be room for more.

Ola Solbakken to Leeds?

According to the Daily Mail, Leeds United are interested in signing AS Roma winger Ola Solbakken and have begun talks to bring him in before the deadline.

Jose Mourinho’s team values Solbakken, 24, at £4 million, and his agent has been in contact with the club about a move on Thursday morning.

Why do Leeds want to sign the winger?

The club is thought to be planning for the possibility of either Luis Sinisterra or Willy Gnonto leaving Elland Road before the transfer window closes tomorrow night, and Solbakken could be included in those plans.

He won a lucrative move to Roma after some outstanding performances for former club Bodo/Glimt, catching the spotlight in the 21/22 Europa Conference League, where he struck a brace against the Italian team, along with six goals and two assists.

Solbakken could be on the move after only six months in the Italian capital, with the signing of Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku likely shortening his path to starts.

Solbakken would be a very exciting addition to the team on the right flank, but you have to question why we’re considering signing him at this point.

We’re well-equipped in attack, so bringing someone else in suggests Farke wants even more depth after Sam Greenwood leaves, or we’re preparing for someone to leave.

Because Luis Sinisterra and Patrick Bamford spend more time on the treatment table than on the pitch, most fans would prefer that we bring in someone else before the deadline.

He appears to be exactly what we’re looking for in a right-winger, able to cut inside and carry the ball long distances under pressure, beat his man, and link up nicely with an aggressive right-back.
