The 31-year-old midfielder joins having been a free agent since the expiry of his contract with Leeds United at the end of the 2022/23 Premier League season.
Originally from Liverpool, he worked his way through the Everton Academy from the age of seven, where he was a team-mate of Shane Duffy, eventually making two senior appearances for the Toffees.
A spell at Brentford followed where he helped them to League One promotion and was named as the competition’s player of the year.
He was also part of Middlesbrough and Leeds United squads that both achieved promotion to the Premier League.
He will wear the number 29 shirt with the Canaries.
Joining the club, Forshaw said: “I’ve watched the games in the first few weeks and been really impressed, I couldn’t wait to get in and try to be a part of it.
“One of the main reasons I came here is because they have a great chance this year. A good mix of big characters and experience with a lot of youthfulness in the rest of the squad.
“The head coach has been there and done it before so everything is in place for us to go and be successful.”
Head coach David Wagner added: “We always had the feeling of wanting to add another player into the midfield areas, and we’re delighted that we have been able to bring a player of Adam’s quality in.
“He knows this league very well and has lots of experience on this level. With everything we have heard about his character and personality, I get the feeling that he will be great for the dynamic of our squad, both on and off the field.”
REAL NEXT:
The Canaries have until 11pm on Friday to get some final bits of business done and now, it seems one player they’re keen to add to their ranks is youngster Mundle-Smith. The 18-year-old played for the U18s against Reading earlier this month and now, reporter McGrath has said Norwich have made an offer to the starlet.
Mundle-Smith started up front for the young Norwich City side in that game with Reading but mainly plays on the wing.
He has spent time in the Kinetic Academy, which focuses on developing young players in South London and giving them opportunities to move into youth football with pro clubs. Mundle-Smith has also spent time with FC Croydon.
Another young star
It remains to be seen if Mundle-Smith does join Norwich City but it would present another promising addition to their academy ranks. There has been a clear path from the youth ranks to the first-team at Carrow Road and the youngster will be hoping to follow that well-trodden route if he does make the move.
In the Canaries’ win over Huddersfield Town at the weekend, four academy graduates found minutes. Jonathan Rowe started and scored once again while Adam Idah also bagged off the bench. Tony Springett and Liam Gibbs came on as substitutes as well while Andrew Omobamidele remained on the bench
