Aston Villa fans could be in for a major attacking boost as reports continue to link the club with a move for Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson.

Jackson is currently one of the players whose future at Chelsea is under discussion, with Aston Villa maintaining serious interest in bringing the Senegal international to Villa Park. Chelsea are reportedly valuing the striker at around £65 million, while Villa are considering the best way to structure a potential deal.

The potential move would be particularly interesting because Villa manager Unai Emery already knows Jackson from their time together at Villarreal. Emery is believed to be a major admirer of the forward and could see his pace, movement and physical presence as valuable additions to Villa’s attack.

However, despite the excitement surrounding the rumour, there is currently no confirmed agreement that Jackson has signed for Aston Villa. Recent reports say Jackson is presently inclined to remain at Chelsea and compete for his place under new manager Xabi Alonso, meaning negotiations could still develop in either direction.
