DEAL REJECTED: Coventry City FC Midfielder Gustavo Hamer has just rejected signing contract with.... see more - Uncategorize Coventry City FC have completed one of the most eye-catching moves of their summer transfer window after bringing midfielder Gustavo Hamer back to the club from Sheffield United.

The Sky Blues officially announced Hamer’s return on a long-term contract, bringing an end to his three-year spell at Bramall Lane. Coventry agreed a deal reported to be worth around £6 million for the talented midfielder.

Hamer previously spent three seasons with Coventry City before moving to Sheffield United in 2023. During his first spell with the Sky Blues, he established himself as one of the team’s most influential midfielders, combining creativity, energy and goals from midfield.

The move back to Coventry is particularly significant because the club had to overcome resistance from Sheffield United during negotiations. Earlier in the process, Coventry saw bids for Hamer rejected, while Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder confirmed that the midfielder had not committed to extending his contract at Bramall Lane.
