Celtic FC midfielder Reo Hatate is once again at the centre of transfer speculation, with reports suggesting that the Japanese international is considering his future at the Glasgow club.

Hatate has reportedly informed Celtic of his desire to leave this summer, despite still having a contract with the club. Recent reports indicate that his Celtic exit is increasingly possible, while the club continues to prepare for changes in midfield.

The 28-year-old central midfielder has been an important figure during his time at Celtic, contributing his technical quality, passing ability and attacking runs from midfield. However, his reduced role towards the end of the previous campaign has reportedly contributed to uncertainty over his future.

Celtic are already strengthening their midfield, with Mika Baur arriving from Paderborn, while further midfield recruitment is being considered amid expected departures.

If Hatate does leave, Celtic would be expected to demand a transfer fee for the experienced midfielder, who remains under contract until 2028. His departure would represent another significant change to the club’s midfield options.
