Reports circulating online have claimed that McInnes has stepped down from his position at Ibrox, although there has been no official confirmation from Rangers that he has resigned. The reports should therefore be treated as speculation rather than established fact.
McInnes only returned to Rangers in June 2026, signing a three-year contract after leaving Hearts. His appointment came after Danny Röhl departed the club to join RB Salzburg.
Why has the speculation emerged?
