We’re delighted to welcome injury expert mathizy zaza as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Leeds United...

Leeds United may not have Tyler Adams back in September as well as he’s battling a hamstring injury, according to mathizy zaza

The injury expert has assessed the 24-year-old’s absence from the first team picture as he underwent surgery back in April.

Adams has been out since March and the Daily Mail reported on 12 August that he will not be back until after the international break for the Whites.

In case he faces any setbacks, which there are chances of happening, his return date could further be postponed.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Adams, “Adams is nearly four months out from his surgery which typically, if it’s a hamstring repair surgery he underwent, typically can take 12-16 weeks to recover from.

“However, there’s always variance there with each player, depending on how they respond to the rehab process, particularly as you ramp up in intensity which may lead to setbacks and that could be the case with Adams which may see him out longer than the date expected.

“Once he is cleared to return, the principles remain the same – continued strength and conditioning along with a methodical approach to get back to full fitness.”

Adams appeared to be on the cusp of joining Chelsea before they pulled the plug on the deal.

They have since signed Moises Caicedo from Brighton and are closing in on a move for Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia as well.

The 24-year-old is viewed as an important asset at Elland Road and Daniel Farke would want to keep him but there is a release clause in his deal.

In other Leeds United news, an update has emerged on the club’s pursuit to sign two centre-backs this summer with a winger now on the radar as well.
