Aston Villa’s decision led to the 20-year-old midfielder’s confirmation of his transfer to Leicester City.

confirmed his move to Leicester City after parting company with Aston Villa.

The 20-year-old midfielder left Villa at the end of last season and spent a brief trial period with Leicester’s under-21s in May. He has now posted a photograph of himself signing for the Foxe

Raikhy accompanied the social media post with the words: “New chapter. Delighted to be here at @LCFC (blue heart emoji). Let’s go!”

His father Rav told Sky Sports News: “We’re all so proud to see Arjan sign for Leicester, who are of course former Premier League champions. It’s been a wonderful journey with Aston Villa, and as a family we’re grateful to everyone at the club and the amazing Villa fans for all of the support.

“Now, it’s time for the next chapter. It’s a really exciting move for Arjan and it gives kids the chance to dare to dream. The journey continues.”

Raikhy, who is expected to link up with City’s under-21 squad initially, started out at West Bromwich Albion before joining the youth ranks at Villa. He was handed a senior debut in an FA Cup tie against Liverpool in January 2021, and went on to help Villa lift the FA Youth Cup.

He has also spent time on loan at Stockport County and Grimsby Town to gain more experience of first-team football. The player was said to be a potential target for Wolves and several League Two clubs but it appears Leicester have secured his services.

Premier League club Crystal Palace have reportedly made transfer enquiries to Leicester City over potential moves for Daniel Iversen and Kelechi Iheanacho in the final weeks of the transfer window.

There are less than two weeks of the window remaining as teams look to shape their squad for the remainder of the season. City could see some outgoings before the deadline, with five players left out of recent matchday squads.

Iversen was one of those left out of the squad vs Cardiff, with Mads Hermansen recovering from injury to return to action. Jakub Stolarczyk was on the bench alongside Danny Ward

Both Ward and Iversen could yet leave the club this summer with Stolarczyk establishing himself as second choice under Enzo Maresca. According to the Sun Crystal Palace have ‘asked’ City about Iversen

The report adds that an ‘enquiry’ was also made over City striker Kelechi Iheanacho. The Nigerian has been a big part of Maresca’s teams so far this season, starting the last three games in all competitions under the Italian.
