Davies left Everton this summer after turning down a new contract, ending his long association with the club, and he has now signed for newly-promoted Sheffield United.
The 25-year-old stated that he is ‘full of enthusiasm’ to get started at Bramall Lane.
Davies told Sheffield United’s official website: ‘I’m made up to be here and can’t wait to get started. It was time for me to go from the previous club to join Sheffield United and I’m really excited for it, I think it is a great project that the team have here and I’m full of enthusiasm and hunger to get going.
‘The Premier League is the best league in the world so when Sheffield United came knocking I thought this was the place to be, playing against the best teams and the best players.’
heffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom is eager for the club to make further signings.
Asked whether there would be more arrivals before Friday’s game away to Nottingham Forest, Heckingbottom said: ‘I was hoping that we would, we are still hopeful.
‘It’s only two days so who knows, we have to do it as quickly as we can and get working with the players.
‘The work is not going to stop regardless of when the fixtures are. Our planning and preparation for Forest can’t stop in the hope that we get someone.
‘The work behind the scenes will continue but our focus on here is on Forest.’
Davies is the latest arrival at Sheffield United, with Anis Slimane, Benie Traore, Auston Trusty, Vinicius Souza and Gustavo Hamer having signed permanently, while Yasser Larouci joined on loan from Troyes.
Heckingbottom’s side started their season with a 1-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace.
Everton academy graduate Davies made 179 appearances for the Toffees and scored seven goals.
