Back in March, Emil Audero revealed he had received an offer from Nottingham Forest in the winter market but turned it down to continue at Sampdoria.
Last month, La Repubblica stated the Tricky Trees still have the goalkeeper on their agenda for the summer window.
Fast forward to July and Samp News 24 now state Nottingham Forest are one of the clubs that like the 26-year-old.
After the Italian club’s relegation from Serie A, he could leave Sampdoria if they were to receive a convincing offer, especially with Wladimiro Falcone returning to the club after his loan spell at US Lecce.
The report doesn’t specify what figure would be deemed convincing for Sampdoria to let go of Audero.
Steve Cooper’s side are looking for a new stopper in the market and it’s claimed they are ‘studying the strategy’ to sign the Italian in this window. Apart from the Premier League club, Lazio, Inter Milan, Fiorentina, Empoli and Bologna are also in the mix to sign Audero.
If they fail to find an agreement with Sampdoria for Audero, the report says Nottingham Forest will shift their focus to Bartłomiej Drągowski. The Spezia stopper is identified as a ‘plan B’.
