Aston Villa appoint Unai Emery new head coach

The latest Aston Villa transfer news as Unai Emery is reportedly keen on a reunion with his former Sevilla goalkeeper who has made an impression on both the domestic and international stage

Aston Villa are reportedly showing an interest in Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou – known as Bono – this summer, as Unai Emery eyes a reunion.

The 32-year-old has been linked with a move away from Spain in the current transfer window, with reports saying that he has received interest from Saudi Arabia. A number of players have completed the move to the middle east this summer.

But, it seems that Bono won’t be one of them. According to Tuttomercatoweb , the goalkeeper has ‘said no’ to a ‘rich offer’ from Saudi Arabia.

A move away from Sevilla could still be on the cards though. The reports adds that Emery ‘would like’ him at Villa as a possible replacement for Emiliano Martinez.

Martinez has been linked with a move away from the club this summer. Back in May, AS Roma were credited with an interest in the Argentianian, while Manchester United have also been linked with a potential move , amid uncertainty over the future of David De Gea who is now out of contract.
