report : Leeds United want to sign £25m midfielder before transfer deadline…..
Rangers could drop their £5m asking price before the deadline to sell Glen Kamara as Leeds plot a move for the midfielder, report Football Scotland.
Writing on their official website (16 August), the newspaper report that Rangers want £5m for the Finland international but could lower their demands to get him off the books before the transfer widow shuts.
Leeds have reportedly already agreed personal terms ahead a transfer, and could now look to find an agreement with Rangers.
“The likes of Antonio Colak and Lewis Mayo have left and more will follow before the end of the window and the main one of them is Glen Kamara. The midfielder has been frozen out and Leeds are keen on snapping him up,” they wrote.
“Rangers want £5million for him but the closer it gets to the end of the window the more they might be willing to accept a bit less to get him off the wage bill given he’s not even training with the first team squad.
“Other teams are interested too but a move to England is likely to be his preferred move.”
£25m has seemingly been deemed as quite high for Kamara, otherwise a deal would surely have been done a long time ago on that front.
Michael Beale has said that there is nothing in talk about the player coming to Elland Road, but there is far too much smoke for there to be no fire and you’d expect something to be going on behind the scenes.
We are desperately in need of midfield reinforcements with our current options of Ethan Ampadu, Jamie Shackleton, Tyler Adams, Archie Gray and Sam Greenwood lacking in all of quality, fitness and experience.
Kamara would boost all of those areas and give Farke a great new option to play in the pivot but also potentially slightly further forward too if needed.
At less than £25m it would be a fantastic signing and with time running out, hopefully we can get something done sooner rather than later to help the team out.
