Leicester City ‘target’ Man City prospect as transfer stance emerges

Leicester City news from LeicestershireLive as Foxes are said to be keen on Manchester City defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis along with Leeds United and Southampton

Leicester City are reported to be interested in signing Manchester City defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis on loan.

Leicester were previously linked with Harwood-Bellis in November of last year while the young centre-back was on loan at Burnley. City, of course, went on to be relegated from the Premier League and have since recruited Enzo Maresca from Man City as their new manager.

The Foxes have already signed Callum Doyle on a season-long loan from the reigning Premier League champions. And they also completed a loan deal for Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei on Tuesday.

They are among six summer signings made so far – along with four permanent arrivals in Harry Winks, Conor Coady, Mads Hermansen and Stephy Mavididi. And now Leicester are being linked with Harwood-Bellis once more.

John Percy of the Telegraph reports that the 21-year-old is a loan target for Championship clubs including relegated trio City, Leeds United and Southampton. He adds that Man City are open to selling the player “at the right price” before the summer transfer window closes on September 1.Taylor Harwood-Bellis in action for England U21s

Harwood-Bellis helped Burnley romp to the Championship title under Vincent Kompany last season. He previously had loan stints with Stoke City, Blackburn Rovers and Belgian side Anderlecht.
